Ozonized Water Administration in Peri-Implant Mucositis Sites: A Randomized Clinical Trial

چکیده
Peri-implant mucositis represents an inflammatory lesion of the mucosa surrounding endosseous implant, without loss supporting peri-implant bone. Considering its reversible nature, every effort should be made to contrast it, thus avoiding eventual progression towards peri-implantitis. The aim present randomized clinical trial is evaluate efficacy ozonized water against mucositis. A total 26 patients diagnosed for this latter condition were randomly divided according professional oral hygiene protocol performed on pathological sites at baseline, T1 (1 month), and T2 (2 months). Group 1 underwent administration (experimental treatment), whereas 2 a pure one (control treatment). Both administrations with same irrigator (Aquolab® jet, Aquolab s.r.l. EB2C S.r.l., Milano, Italy) no differences in color or taste between two substances delivered. At each appointment, following indexes assessed: Probing Pocket Depth (PPD), Plaque Index (PI), Bleeding (BoP), Score (BS). As regards intragroup differences, significantly progressively reduced all tested, except PI period T1–T2, significant occurred within control group. Despite this, intergroup generally detected treatments. Accordingly, role ozone management deserves further investigated.
